Heather
Smith loves what she does. That’s why she is on her way to being
Davis and Weber Counties’ top real estate agent. How does she do
it? That’s just who she is. Her love of home design, research
skills and helping others helps her serve each and every one of
her clients in the best possible way.
Heather was born in the state of Florida to a teacher and a
lawyer who taught her how it takes dedication, passion and hard
work to make life meaningful. During junior high they taught her
not to be afraid to go for a dream when they moved their whole
family to the beautiful northern town of Logan, Utah. It was not
an easy move, but it taught her family about faith, perseverance
and friendships. That’s why Heather loves the challenge of
helping you reach for your dreams by finding you the perfect
home or the perfect buyer.
Heather graduated from Utah State University in 1989 with a
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, after which she
worked in retail management for four years. As she became
interested more and more in home design, she was offered a
management and sales position with a custom wood and cabinetry
company, which gave her the opportunity to design kitchens and
baths for many of the Parade of Homes. In 1993, one of those
kitchens was awarded as Best Kitchen & Bath Design.
Shortly after that time, Heather and her family’s lives changed
dramatically. She was diagnosed with brain cancer in 1995 and
underwent brain surgery twice. It was a trying time where dreams
and priorities changed, faith grew and prayers were answered. If
you ask her, Heather will unhesitatingly tell you she believes
in miracles. Since then, Heather has counseled, prayed for and
comforted many people dealing with cancer. This website is too
small to list everything she learned throughout her battle with
cancer, but know that when you work with this Realtor, you are
working with someone who is willing to fight for your dreams
just as she had to fight for hers!
Since that period, Heather has spent valuable time with her
family, riding horses and working toward her ultimate dream of
owning a dude ranch and convention center. While searching for
that perfect spot throughout the Rocky Mountain States, Heather
had a difficult time finding a realtor that could understand her
dream. Many agents would not return phone calls, ask enough
questions or find out what was really needed. After having a
property purchase fail because of inexperience with real estate
and not hiring an agent, Heather decided it was time for a
different approach. She decided the best strategy to reach her
dreams would be to gain an education related to real estate. It
was then that she started her transformation from an
inexperienced, uneducated dreamer to an on-her-way-to-the-top
real estate agent (and future dude ranch owner). During the
spring of 2006, she worked through the required training and
received her Utah real estate license. She has not stopped
moving forward since!
Heather is very involved with her real estate and home
communities. During the time Heather and her family were going
through the cancer surgeries and recovery, many people showed
how much they cared and she never forgot the meals, the rides to
the doctors, or the house cleanings people gave. They were so
full of kindness, compassion and willingness to help. In return,
she feels a strong desire to give back to her community and help
others, which she achieves through her involvement with Disaster
Relief, Boy Scouts, her sons’ school library, church programs
and the Baptist Concern Center/Food Bank.
Within real estate, Heather works on the Public Relations team
for Weber and North Davis Realtors and heads up subcommittees
within that team. Some of those activities include county fair
booths and the Christmas Tree Festival fundraisers. Over the
past year, Heather has worked hard to join the top 12% of real
estate agents to earn the honored designation of attaining her
Accredited Buyer’s Representative Certificate. This designation
involves a rigorous process involving multiple classes and
tests, as well as a monitoring process on buyer transactions.
So what makes Heather Smith the best real estate agent in the
business for you? It’s all of the above plus her attention to
detail; a heart that expands with each client whose needs she
helps fulfill, and a never-give-up attitude. She loves making
her client’s dreams come true and giving them those
extra-special considerations, even after the transaction may be
completed. Heather’s keen eye enables her to walk her clients
around the pitfalls of real estate, and her ability to
thoroughly predict and elicit details of the transaction give
her clients a gratifying experience. Heather’s clients are
reaping the benefits every day. After all, that’s what being the
best real estate agent is all about.
Testimonials
"Extraordinarily, I've never met Heather Smith in person. But
the impact she's had on my life has been phenomenal. Heather
entered our lives in October 2007, at a time of great transition
and turmoil for my family. Residing in Oklahoma, my family
unexpectedly discovered that my 89-year-old grandmother was
hospitalized and could no longer provide for her physical and
mental needs. We needed to move her from Ogden, UT to OK as
quickly as possible. Which meant, among many things, that we
needed a real estate agent to sell my grandmother's house, and
we needed to expedite the transaction from Oklahoma. God graced
us with Heather Smith. Heather, having a grandmother of her own
in an assisted living center, related to our situation and
empathized with the emotional state and extraordinary
circumstance we were in. She stepped up to the demands necessary
to sell a house riddled with mold, foundation leaks, and
plumbing issues, and did so in a way that was professional and
amenable. She turned what could have easily been a complicated
and drawn-out affair into a pleasurable business transaction
that left us feeling confident, assured, and thrilled that we
were able to sell my grandmother's home at a competitive price
and in record time. I will always be grateful to Heather, for
she was an integral component in bringing my family together,
giving us peace of mind during our time in distress, and
blessing us with her knowledge, experience, and personal
relationship."
